New SELECT workshop offers an invaluable insight into tendering

SELECT is set to host a helpful workshop on tendering, working in partnership with the Supplier Development Programme (SDP).

The Level 1 (Beginner) workshop will help Members begin to look at the tender process in detail, and deliver the knowledge needed to start bidding for public contracts.

SELECT will also be presenting at the next SDP Meet the Buyer event on 13 November at Hampden Park, Glasgow, with free tickets available from here.

The new events come after SELECT made a successful appearance at the recent Meet the Buyer North event, delivering important messages about safety and regulation.

As the first trade association to join the SDP, our membership saw us invited to the exhibition at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort on 4 September.

Attended by more than 560 suppliers with 41 exhibiting organisations, the event’s headline partners included Scottish Government and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Throughout the day there were various speakers including SELECT Technical Advisor, Keith Hagan (pictured above at the event), who spoke about the new regulations on fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings in Scotland.

Yvonne said: “Our stand was extremely busy throughout the day, with lots of people wanting to know more about SELECT and our current campaign for regulation.

“It became particularly busy following Keith’s presentation, with lots of technical questions to be answered. As well as speaking to current Members, we created lots of new connections, so it was a positive event all round.”
