The two-day course, which will begin in early 2020, aims to provide expert guidance to learners wishing to gain a better knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment.
Aimed at practising electricians interested in understanding how to install the range of equipment and systems available, the qualification covers the specialised installation requirements of EV charging equipment in public, private and commercial locations, and includes guidance on electrical requirements.
Jenny Cyrans, SELECT Training Manager, said: “It has been great to team up with Fife College to offer this new course to our Members. We know from feedback that the installation of EV equipment is becoming a growing priority, and we’re happy to provide training options to keep up with this demand.”
During the classes, students will cover a range of knowledge and skills across areas including inspection and testing and handing over of electrical vehicle charging equipment. Candidates will then be be assessed by a multiple choice test and a practical assessment.
