The Electrotechnical Site Safety Assessment (TESSA)

SELECT are delighted to announce a new training course for those requiring an introduction to electrical site safety.

The Electrotechnical Site Safety Assessment (TESSA) is a one-day SQA approved course relevant to any candidate who is not a qualified electrician or other tradesperson, who is employed, or will shortly be employed, in a role which will require them to access construction sites, either sporadically or on a regular basis.  It is applicable broadly across the construction industry and related industries and has been accredited to SCQF Level 6 (This is equivalent to level 3 on the QCF scale) by the SQA.  Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded an SQA certificate that will be acceptable to the SJIB for renewal of their ECS card.

Candidates who pass this course should be able to operate safely within their abilities on a construction site; demonstrate a good level of knowledge about health and safety practice; demonstrate a broad awareness of the particular properties and dangers of electricity and electrical installations on sites; and demonstrate a basic level of knowledge about the qualifications, regulatory structures and mechanisms associated with regulation of electrical work.

For further information and available dates please refer to the Training Section of the website or contact the Training Team on 0131 445 5577.
