This two-day City & Guilds course for qualified electricians aims to provide expert guidance to learners wishing to gain knowledge and understanding on Electric Vehicle charging equipment installation.
The qualification includes additional methods of protecting against open PEN conductor faults and how to assess if an installation has an issue with diverted neutral current. It also includes smart functions in EVSE and relevant items within the installation as a whole. Integration into prosumer's electrical installations including the option of electric vehicles reverse feeding into the installation and/or supply grid.
Candidates will be assessed by a multiple-choice test and a short answer and scenario-based assignment.

Pre-course requirements:
The course is designed for qualified electricians with a minimum of 18th Edition qualification and an expectation of meeting the following criteria:
Minimum age 18 years old (mandatory)
Must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
Be able to correctly install and terminate pvc/pvc cable (twin earth)
Steel wire armoured cable (swa)
Be able to carry out an initial verification (inspection & testing) of an electrical installation and complete the necessary paperwork
Meet the 'Learner entry requirements' refer to page 8 of the
Handbook
(i.e., hold an ECS Gold Card, SJIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card).
