I need to renew my SJIB grade card and need to do the ECS Health and Safety Assessment; how do I do this?

Employers should complete and return the ECS Health and Safety Guidelines to the SJIB. Go to the SJIB website to access a copy of the guidelines

I’m self employed / unemployed; where can I sit the ECS Health and Safety Assessment?
The SJIB facilitate and invigilate the ECS Health and Safety Assessments in Edinburgh on a regular basis. If you would like to sit the assessment in Edinburgh you should complete the SJIB application form.

Is the ECS Health and Safety Assessment a touch screen or paper test?
No, the SJIB have only ever operated a paper based tests.

Can I access the ECS Health and Safety questions before I sit the assessment?
Yes. You can either order a Question Booklet for £5.00 from the SJIB or you can view them on the SJIB website.  

How long does it take to receive the results of my ECS test?
The SJIB will send the results on to you within 3 weeks of marking the paper.
