Government
SELECT works closely with local government, the Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament, UK Government and European Union to promote issues of importance to SELECT and to provide authoritative input on behalf of the industry.

External Standards Committees
SELECT influences technical standards in the areas of BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations) and other British Standards Committees dealing with technological areas of Members' work'.

Liaison with Stakeholders
SELECT interacts with industry organisations, professional bodies, specifiers and others to create the market environment and industry conditions which enable Member firms to operate profitably.

Trade Union
SELECT meets regularly with representatives of UNITE the Union to negotiate pay and conditions and to discuss industry matters, including training.
